Welcome to the final round of the Spelling Bee Contest. We can be very proud of our participants. They are the best spellers in our primary school.
The thrilling, sudden-death competition saw the contestants fighting tooth and nail in each round, as they were challenged to spell tough words such as “scissors”, “island”, “geography”, “barbecue”, “prescription”, “refrigerator”, and many more.
Almost three hundred students signed up for our contest and only thirty-four have managed to reach the great final. We have to take into consideration the fact that these students all have different levels of English language skills.
All the students have been working for nearly two months to try to be in the final and they have achieved our goals: to improve their English and to always give their best.
But not only have they reached these goals, they have shown us their wonderful personal values having massively signed up for the contest when they knew it was to help fund the Baka School in Cameroon.
When we started planning this contest, our expectation was to earn three hundred euros to run the Baka School for one month, but they have exceeded our expectations, and now we can run it for 2 months which we wouldn’t have dreamt of when we first started to promote the contest.
Congratulations to this year’s champions, to all the participants, and to the organizers for their hard work!
