Dear readers,
We would like to share with you all our projects. As part of our English Curriculum we have come up with an advertising campaign and product from scratch. In order to carry this out we had to put into practice the knowledge acquired in class as well as our own research and linking this subject to other fields such as Philosophy studying modes of persuasion.
Of the modes of persuasion furnished by the spoken word there are three kinds. The first kind depends on the personal character of the speaker [ethos]; the second on putting the audience into a certain frame of mind [pathos]; the third on the proof, or apparent proof, provided by the words of the speech itself [logos]. Persuasion is achieved by the speaker’s personal character when the speech is so spoken as to make us think him credible.

We have created our own product, advertisement, logo, business plan and much more! Once we had completed the task the next step was to present it to our classmates and teacher Mary and discuss assessment.
This activity reflects the learner profile attitudes we train in our IB Diploma Programme.
Some products we came up with are: The Eco bin: a smart , Bloodsure: A diabetes control jewel device,
Temptation: The most healthy Hot Chocolate, Safe clean: a way to help Colombian citizens improve their daily life, BSL Industries: a smart coffee machine, Butter Stick: a healthy and easy to use butter stick, AUX: The helping humanoid…
We have not only learned new skills and content but also learned from each other and had fun!
Thank you!
